GAB HOSTS GIRL SCOUTS GROUPS AT ST ROBERTS CATHOLIC CHURCH.

GAB was invited to make a presentation to 25 Girl Scouts comprising Daisy’s and Brownies at their monthly meeting in Shorewood. What an enthusiastic and delightful group of young girls! Linda Lee and James Dean got the girls involved by having them introduce themselves and tell a little about themselves and what they liked. Linda used an empty jar and had the girls put a toy ball in the jar representing the things they liked. Pretty soon the jar was full and Linda told the girls if they fill up their “life jar” with only good things, there will be no room for the negative, bad things. She then introduced the concepts of the terms bullying, bystander and upstander to help the girls understand that they could do something about bullying if they wanted.

Linda brought the GAB Puppets along and the girls were so excited to see the puppets! They immediately wanted to make their own puppet show and present a skit about bullying. They did a great job with their presentation.

We received an email from the Troop leader Lydia Carey that said “Thank you so much for the wonderful presentation today! I think the girls got a lot out of it. They are doing a bullying unit in class too, so this was a perfect complement to it. You did a fabulous job and we look forward to working with you again.”

It doesn’t get any better than that. Thank you Brownie Troop 10587 and Daisy Troop 10630 for your wonderful enthusiasm and hospitality.

Special thanks to Ponyville for their donation to GAB
that helps support our outreach programs.
