The Hampton Inn Hosts Bullying Prevention Training by GAB
Tara Wurtz Generations Against Bullying (GAB) Executive Assistant and Marketing Director for the Hampton Inn located in West Allis, brought GAB in to provide a training in Bullying Prevention. The presenters were Linda Lee, Michael Turner and Martha Sanchez-Hernandez and what a successful and informative training. We had plenty of laughs along with Martha who provided the Spanish translation for the staff as many did not speak English. Attitudes was one of the areas of interest. Michael Turner spoke on how “Attitude is Everything!”. He shared how lucky we are as American’s and compare how so many people around the world do not have the luxury of clean drinking water like we do. Sometimes, we need to step back and learn how to choose the good things in our lives and let go of the bad things. Our world needs more kindness, more love, more acceptance, more patience and Michael gave examples on how to become Upstanders at home, in our communities and at work.
Martha expanding on the topic by sharing a great example of how the District Manager scheduled to come to her U.S. Cellular location because he was amazed at the stores low employee turnover. Martha contributed this to the store employee’s attitudes and positive atmosphere as the major factor.
Linda ended on a true story example of how powerful the mind is and how a person can make these changes through positive affirmations daily and how a negative attitude can cause many physical problems.
Even Rod the general manager participated and played the game of Choice. His choice was, would you rather sleep with a helmet on for the rest of your life or sleep with boots and jeans. Rod chose the helmet. The staff loved our presentation about acting as Upstanders.
Special thanks to Ponyville for their donation to GAB
