GAB ATTENDS THE BUILDING THE HEART OF SUCCESSFUL SCHOOLS CONFERENCE.

Department of Public Instruction’s Convention: Building the Heart of Successful Schools

December 7-8, 2017
Radisson Paper Valley Hotel
Appleton, WI

James Dean, GAB Executive Director, talked with administrators, counselors and teachers during the DPI’s convention at the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel in downtown Appleton, WI. About 350 attendees heard presentations concerning “Building the Heart of Successful Schools” and viewed the GAB information booth. James discussed how difficult the bullying problem is for schools to handle. He emphasized how the GAB Peer Ambassador Upstander Program in schools can offer a positive, successful solution by putting the power to stop bullying into the hands of the students where the bullying is occurring.

If a student becomes and upstander in a non-threatening way the bullying will stop within 10 seconds 85% of the time. By empowering students, they can change their culture of learning and have a positive impact on detentions, suspensions, absenteeism, tardiness, drug abuse, and suicide in their schools.

Thank you for everyone who visited our booth.
