Katherine R. Leiske Harder, Director of Special Education/Pupil Services, East Troy Community School District, invited GAB to speak to a group of parents and students at the East Troy Middle School.

GAB motivational speaker, Shae McNamara, and James Dean, GAB Executive Assistant, described how we could address the bullying epidemic in our society.

James stated, “If you become an upstander in a non-threatening way, the bullying will stop within 10 seconds 85% of the time”. Shae added, “You have to believe you are good enough. This starts with loving who you are. You have what it takes to become an upstander.”

This became the focal point for the parents and students to become involved with a discussion about bullying and how they can be part of the solution.
