Dousman Elementary School Principal Jeremy Monday, his staff, and 430 students made sure to wear their green and gold to welcome Generations Against Bullying (GAB) and former Green Bay Packer William Henderson.
William described his experience as a Packer rookie and meeting Reggie White his first day of practice.
He shared his inspirational story of having been bullied when he was young, and how important it is to be an upstander for someone who is being bullied.
He told the students that while the teachers and administration can help with bullying, the real power to stop bullying belongs to the students, because if a student becomes an upstander in a bullying situation, the bullying will stop 85% of the time within 10 seconds.
William said upstanding will also stop bullying by those using social media devices.
He challenged each student to have the courage to become an upstander.
GAB’s mission is to give every school the opportunity to display our upstander symbol in front of the school, demonstrating, “We are an Upstander school.”
We said goodbye to ringing chants of “Go Pack GO”!
