Kenosha Wisconsin Alderman teams up with Generations Against Bullying

October proclaimed Anti-Bullying Month in Kenosha

Kenosha Wisconsin Alderman Bob Johnson

In 2014 the City of Kenosha passed a proclamation sponsored by Anti-Bully Alderman Bob Johnson, stating that October would be anti-bully month in Kenosha. This Proclamation named Generations Against Bullying (GAB) as the organization to lead the community anti-bully events.

In 2015 an update was made to the Proclamation to grant $7000.00 to (GAB) to prepare an Anti–Bullying Event. GAB planned a special Movie Event for the community to view GAB’s special “Bully” movie which helps the community understand how devastating bullying can be, and offers solutions to address the issues.

GAB secured a beautiful venue, the Journey Church, organized guest speakers, planned a resource fair, worked with the Kenosha Unified School District to schedule Green Bay Packer Super Bowl Champion William Henderson in to speak to 8 Kenosha schools, contacted local media to develop community awareness of the event, went to football, and soccer games in the community to hand out Event information cards, organized refreshments, and contracted Charles Love to provide music prior to the event.

The Kenosha Anti-Bullying Month allowed GAB to speak to parents and students from around the community including:

JOURNEY CHURCH
INDIAN TRAIL HIGH SCHOOL
LINCOLN MIDDLE SCHOOL
BRASS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
HARVEY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
JEFFREY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
STOCKER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
