Bader Rutter: The Evolution of GAB Branding.
June 2016 was the start of a watershed year for Generations Against Bullying (GAB).
That’s when Milwaukee ad agency, Bader Rutter, asked GAB if they could represent us in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s Partners in Humanity competition.
This competition is for ad agencies in Milwaukee who would create an ad for a Milwaukee non-profit organization of their choice. The ad is to capture the essence of the non-profit’s core message. After two-I hour meetings with Bader Rutter, they asked us for permission to design a new logo for us as well. Little did we know how important that decision would be.
The new logo created a new identity that launched GAB into the “call for action” we had been seeking-the Upstander,. Upstander, is the term that is central to the GAB Vision, Mission, and Programs.
Our new Upstander logo forged a single, powerful, marketing symbol that signifies our message that the power to stop bullying lies within the hands of the students. If a bystander to bullying becomes an Upstander, in a non-threatening way, the bullying will stop 85% of the time within 10 seconds. Bader Rutter’s GAB ad took third in the Partners in Humanity competition.
Milwaukee Bell Award
Bader Rutter carried our ad into the Business Marketing Association’s Milwaukee Bell Awards Competition in S.E. Wisconsin. This competition showcases the best and most effective B2B work created by agencies, corporate marketers, and vendor partners. Our ads took second place!
We wrote a post recently with more information on the Bader Rutter ad series created for GAB. GAB ADS RECEIVE INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION
Global ACE Award
But it gets better! Bader Rutter then entered our GAB ad into the Global Ace Awards. The Global ACE Awards is the longest-running B2B creative competition in the United States, and a signature competition and event of the Business Marketing Association (BMA) New York chapter.
This year’s event was held at Forbes on Fifth. Forbes, Demandbase, Siegel+Gale, and IBM were this year’s event sponsors. Winners were named in 39 categories by a global panel of judges. Categories ranged from integrated campaigns, social media, mobile marketing and content marketing to digital, print and broadcast advertising. Winners were selected based on creative quality and innovation.
Our ad took second place in the Branding Identity, Logo Design category! The BMA then included our ad in a posting to the world, as an example of the best ad creations of 2017! We have since heard that Spain is incorporating our ad into their anti-bully campaign program for their schools.
It doesn’t get any better than that! From struggling with trying to find our “call to action” a year ago, to our Bader Rutter partnership that created our new logo, the door to a very positive message to market our Programs to reduce the epidemic of bullying has been opened. Our goal is to create Upstander Schools throughout Wisconsin and our Nation.
We envision our new Upstander logo to become as recognizable as the Nike Swoosh.
