GAB PRESENTATION AT GUARDIANS OF CHILDREN RALLY

August 8th, 2020

Linda Lee gave a presentation for the Guardians Of the Children Rally at the Sheraton Hotel in Brookfield, WI.  We did not expect the amazing feedback and appreciation for what we do at Generations Against Bullying and our Upstander Programs.

The mission statement of the Guardians Of the Children, “Guardians of the Children (GOC) is to recognize and react to child abuse and educate the public to do the same; to serve as advocates to provide strength and stability to families in crisis; and be an answer to the prayer of an abused child or teen for courage, support and protection”. Generations Against Bullying and the Guardians Of the Children are united in very similar ways.  We are fighting for the safety of our children who are dealing with forms of physical and mental abuse and the resulting emotional scars.

The live auction was so much fun, and everyone was family.  People came from all walks of life and from all over the country.  Some met for the first time, but the special bond is something that words simply cannot describe.

Since the Covid-19 virus, we have been concentrating on updating our Upstander Curriculum for schools and the Scouts.  For all of us, it has been a very rough time in many ways.  Especially on the children and parents, the child abuse, bullying, domestic violence have escalated to an all-time high and is a very serious concern.  I know I have felt the depression and sadness with all the devastation, destruction, sickness, and the loss of jobs that is happening in our country today.

After the presentation we had the opportunity to meet many of the Guardians. What a phenomenal experience!  They are the most compassionate, loving, sincere, welcoming, and courageous people I have had the honor to meet.  Bullying has been one of the toughest issues to deal with because there are so many pre-conceived notions and schools have a difficult time addressing the problem. Spending time with the Guardians was the most encouraging and enlightening experiences.  Having this experience with individuals who dedicate their life and mission to a cause that helps save the lives of children and help them get through the emotional issues and scars that last a lifetime, is extraordinary.  Our organizations have a wonderful bond after this meeting and connection.  I am so grateful to the Guardians for renewing my passion, commitment, and determination to never give up the fight. Regardless of the obstacles we have overcome.

I am speaking for myself, and as the Director of Generations Against Bullying. Guardians you brought my hope, confidence, faith, passion, and inspiration back to life!

Thank you!
